This is an octagonal Wa Style Handle made for Japanese style kitchen knives.
The body is from kingwood with a blonde Buffalo horn ferrule. Buffalo horn is a natural product and it is common to see visual non-perfections as this one displays. Please view the photos closely to see this one
Medium sized, it is suited for 165-210 mm Japanese knives.

Handle is sanded to 600 grit and then coated in 5-6 coats of sealer for longer protection.
Care :
Hand wash with soapy water and towel dry.
Do not put in dishwasher, nor soak in water for long periods of time.
Oil on a fairly regular basis, or sand with 0000 steel wool and reapply a sealer like tru-oil as needed.
